Color/Appearance: Heartwood whitish, slightly pink, usually turning light yellow or also light yellowish brown; imperceptible smell and taste; high density;.. Sapwood may be over from 2’’ - 2.5’’.
Grain/Texture: Grain tends to be great reverse; Coarse texture.
Rot Resistance: Pequiá is durable, it is not susceptible to insect attack.
Workability: Piquiá wood is difficult to work with both hand and machine tools. Produces rough surface after planing due to the large reverse. Good finish in painting, varnish and polishing
Odor: No characteristic odor.
Availability: Most commonly available as TIMBERS , rough beams.
Sustainability: This wood species is not listed in the CITES Appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
